Digibug says goodbye to a wonderful 2011

Goodbye 2011

Phew, what a year we’ve had! 2011 has been a corker for Digibug and 2012 promises to be even more exciting - and not just because of that big sporty thing.

A massive ‘thank you’ goes to all of our wonderful clients for their support during the year. You’ve all been great fun to work with.

The highlight of 2011 has to be the 24-hour makeover of our new Exeter office. Swapping our Macs for paintbrushes and screwdrivers, we transformed a dull, nondescript Devon basement into the funky, Digibug creative laboratory, the nerve centre of our bid for graphic design world domination... (cue evil laugh).

Okay, maybe not. But opening our office in Exeter was a big step for Digibug. And we’re now approaching another milestone, hiring our first member of staff. An offer’s been made, and accepted, and our new designer starts in Exeter in January. We’ll be saying more about Kerry in the near future.

While world domination might be just a glint in Digibug’s eye, we’ve enjoyed plenty of growth this year. We’ve been involved in the hosting or design of over 70 new websites in 2011. They were a mixed bunch, including charity sites, the public sector (such as Dorset Police) and, of course, lots of private sector firms.

We have also continued to provide third-party graphic design services to other design firms.

Another change in 2011 was our expansion into copywriting services. Through our partnership with freelance copywriter, Andrew Knowles, of Writecombination, we can now provide a complete website service. Clients come to us wanting a website: we design it, build it, create the text, set up SEO, host it and provide on-going support. All for a ridiculously low fee.

It’s not all work, work, work here at Digibug. We also find time for fun, and we enjoy combining that with support for local good causes. This year we’ve given hours of our time to Weymouth Carnival and Weymouth Christmas Sparkle.

We also stopped shaving our upper lips for Movember. A big thank you goes to Nigel Reed, of Weymouth Basepoint, and Thomas Mereweather, of Equation Accounting, for being part of our hairy team.

So that’s 2011 almost in the can. We’re closed from 22 December through to 3 January 2012. Although, if you have a support issue, you can call the usual number. We love you so much that we’ve rigged the phone system to reach us, wherever we are (well, almost).

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas, along with a happy and (despite the ‘almost recession’) a prosperous New Year!
